POSITION TITLE: Operations HR Business Partner

EXEMPTION STATUS: Salaried Exempt

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: HR Director

 

 

SUMMARY: The HR Business Partner is responsible for engagement, development, staffing, succession planning and employee relations in the North America manufacturing plant and will be the primary contact for operations leaders.  The manufacturing facility is the company’s largest global facility and is adjacent to Vehicle Service Group’s Americas headquarters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

 

  • Manage all aspects of employee relations and function as a front-line business partner to manufacturing managers and supervisors. 
  • Develop and sustain employee engagement programs including communication, feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement employee development programs including lean implementation training, leadership development, compliance, and technical training.  Expand use of Learning Management System (LMS). 
  • Lead the talent acquisition, onboarding and internal staffing process for the facility. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable processes and policies. 
  • General support of HR team and functions as needed.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 

  • Minimum 3 years of HR Experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Prior experience with employee training programs and learning management systems. Specific experience with manufacturing training programs, including welding, preferred.  
  • Experience with Success Factors or other SAP products a plus.
  • Knowledge of HR law and regulations and demonstrated the ability to resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Proficient use of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), other systems applications and computer programs. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Self-directed, comfortable making decisions and exercising judgment.
  • Must possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgment, quick learning ability with the ability to convey confidence and diplomacy are essential characteristics.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, hands-on environment.
