SUMMARY:
Vehicle Services Group (VSG), a global leader in designing and manufacturing vehicles service, collision, and automotive OEM equipment, is looking for a seasoned Plant Manager to join our growing Madison, Indiana facility. Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Manufacturing Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant, ensuring production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves strategic planning, process improvements, and leadership to drive operational excellence and achieve company objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, strong project management and presentation skills, as well as a background in manufacturing, and the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
• Lead and manage all plant operations, including production, maintenance, and quality.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to meet production goals, quality standards, and cost targets.
• Ensure the plant operates in compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Leadership & Team Development:
• Provide strong leadership to the plant team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, train, and develop employees to build a high-performing team.
• Establish clear goals and performance expectations, conducting regular evaluations and feedback sessions.
• Promote a positive work environment focused on employee engagement and retention.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
• Ensure all production processes adhere to quality control standards and customer requirements.
• Implement and enforce safety programs to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
Financial & Cost Management:
• Develop and manage the plant’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational effectiveness.
• Optimize resource utilization, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing:
• Implement lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
• Lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance overall process effectiveness.
• Drive innovation and automation where applicable to improve plant performance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, with at least 3 years as a plant manager or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive operational excellence, and change management.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost controls.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ISO, and other relevant safety and quality standards.
