SUMMARY:
Develop, plan, and implement process controls and procedures that will lead the Company to be a world class manufacturer. Included is the maintenance of third party certifications, i.e. (ISO 9000, ETL/ALI, CE/TUV, etc.). This position would be responsible to maintaining quality standards, developing or improving process documentation, responsible for resolving customer and production issues as they arise in a timely manner for the applicable value stream. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations. Ensure the quality of the parts produced in the value stream meet all customer expectations; quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Develop and implement systems and procedures that will lead the Company to World Class Manufacturing status.
- Document the systems and procedures and develop and perform compliance audits to ensure that we do comply with our procedures.
- Train and facilitate our organization’s use of advanced quality tools (i.e.: Statistical Process Control, Root-Cause Analysis etc.) necessary to maintain our quality at the highest levels.
- Provide information to the organization concerning the cost of quality. (i.e.: Scrap, rework, warranty expense, customer complaints and any other information that can be used to enhance the customer acceptance of our products.)
- Create and maintain CTQ (Critical to Quality) work instructions for plant manufacturing operations.
- Ethics & Work Standards: Maintain the highest ethical and work standards, while promoting the same attributes in subordinates, business partners, and vendors. Insure that all accounting-related business activities - with both internal and external customers - be performed with a professional demeanor and that all participants be held accountable to this high standard.
- Communication: Expresses thoughts clearly, both orally and in writing, using good grammar. Presents concise, well organized reports. Listens to understand input, feedback and concerns. Provides complete information in an open, honest, and straight-forward manner. Responds promptly and positively to questions and requests.

Advises supervisor of concerns, problems and progress of work in a timely manner. Demonstrates a sound balance between quality and quantity of work while maintaining a sense of urgency toward completion. Deadlines are met.
CONTACTS (Internal and External):
This position will have heavy contact with Operations, Engineering, Customer Service and Supply Chain. Customer contacts and supplier contacts are moderate but critical to this position.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education: 4 year degree or 2 year associate degree with practical experience in a quality function, or Black Belt with practical experience in a quality function.
Abilities: Must have good oral and written communications skills. ASQ, Six-Sigma, or Dorian Shanin Certification highly desirable. Must be experienced on Microsoft Office including proficiency in Excel or Access, with Minitab experience preferred.
Experience: 5 years experience in a metal working industry or manufacturing preferred.
Supervision: Works under the general supervision of the Director of Quality. Must handle most matters with council from the supervisor.
Responsibility: Must be a self starter and work under limited supervision. Must exercise substantial degree of judgment.
