AvaLAN Networks (“AvaLAN”), now part of Dover Fueling Solutions, was founded in 2004 as an industrial, wireless Ethernet company focused on securely connecting difficult to reach edge network devices. AvaLAN has emerged as the market leader for networking solutions that combine Secure Wireless Ethernet, Network Segmentation for PCI, Centralized Active VLAN synchronization with cloud management and Digital Current Loop communications. AvaLAN is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, with remote offices in Arizona, Colorado and Canada.

 

Position Summary:

The User Interface Web (Front-End) Developer will be responsible for the overall appearance of the web applications internally developed by AvaLAN, making sure they provide a functional and enjoyable experience to all different types of users. In this role, you will use your technical engineering abilities and social skills to meet daily challenges and short/long term objectives to provide our customers with reliable and good-looking solutions.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with the different user groups to gather their specifications and functional expectations.
  • Plan, design and propose the layout of the web apps to all interested parties.
  • Implement responsive web design principles to ensure that the website renders well across multiple devices.
  • Assist in the development of applications and features that will be put on the website as well as internal functions.
  • Improve the current front-end based on the feedback from business analysts and testers.
  • Troubleshoot and add new features to the Front-end.
  • Constantly test and improve the user experience of all user-facing systems.

 

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design
    • Master’s degree in such fields is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of continuous experience working with Web development and/or User Interface design.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience/Knowledge of the following Technologies preferred:
    • React, Angular or any other modern Frontend JavaScript framework is a plus
    • HTML or PUG
    • CSS or STYLUS
    • JavaScript, JQuery
    • Bootstrap
    • WebSockets or equivalent communications API
    • Git

 

  • Experience implementing secure code practices.
    • AvaLAN’s systems are designed with security in mind and this position requires working in an environment with high standards of security compliance.

 

  • Strong English communication skills.
    • Constant communication with the other team members, internal users and customers is required, via email, chat, video conference, and calls. Also, candidate will be expected to prepare documentation such as design proposals, diagrams, test reports, etc.

 

  • Rapidly adopt new knowledge and technologies.
    • Constant training in secure coding and design techniques and practices is required.

 

  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
    • Candidate should be willing to detect issues before they cause any impact, as well as cooperate with other team members to solve any situation affecting systems.

 

  • Analytical thinking and attention to details.

 

  • Flexibility to adapt to new technical environments.

 

  • Basic knowledge of Linux and cloud systems/cloud computing (preferred).
