R&D Laboratory Technician

Fixed-term contract (6 months), start date September 2026.

The Role

In this role you’ll be joining a research team in a state-of-the-art innovation center notable by its dynamic entrepreneurial spirit. You will be working along with Senior Ink R&D Chemists / Scientist and technicians in the development, formulation, characterization and testing of prototype inkjet inks.

You’ll have an opportunity to work in a multicultural environment across the Markem-Imaje organization, you will interact with engineers and others disciplines throughout the organization for high value integrated solutions. You will work with various, cutting-edge instrumentation and provide data and technical recommendations based on results.

What you will do:

• Develop inkjet ink formulation in correlation with the technology and application challenges.
• Execute standard product development and/or research methods, protocols, and procedures.
• Write reports on your laboratory works and share results with the R&D team
• Operate printing equipment of varying complexity
• Work in a manner that is safe to yourself and coworkers; follow established company rules and regulations
• Maintain lab area and equipment in a clean and safe conditions

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or CFC with 1-3 years’ experience in formulation field (Paints, coatings, adhesives or preferred inks)
• A first experience in chemical industrial sector and passion for technology
• Passionate about technology, strong technology culture
• Must be analytical and have experience working/solving problems
• Understand the technology capabilities and limitations in the applications scope
• Exercise judgement on applying methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Comfortable using standard computer software (MS-Office)
• Thoroughness, observation and organizational skills
• Team player
• Good knowledge of English and French
• Excellent oral and written communication
