Position Summary:

Under limited supervision, performs routine repair, modification and preventive maintenance tasks on building, facilities, equipment fixtures and systems.  Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains facility plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.

 

Position Hours: 5am - 3pm (on average and can be flexible, subject to change)

Weekly hours average 40-50 hrs/ week

 

Essential Job Functions Include:

  1. Work safely and without injury.
  2. Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains standard facility systems.
  3. Performs routine preventative maintenance operations such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
  4. Performs routine and assists with complex trouble-shooting and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.  (Requires the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of bearings, gears, structural components, etc.)
  5. Uses standard hand and power tools.
  6. Assists in the movement of equipment and furniture as needed.
  7. Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
  8. May install minor modifications.
  9. May do limited carpentry and painting.
  10. May have assigned duties in carrying out the hazardous materials program.
  11. May participate in Warn Automotive’s Selection Process.
  12. Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem-solving, etc.)
  13. Implements the Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities.
  14. Performs non-certified welding and limited machining operations incidental to repair and maintenance tasks.
  15. Performs basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  16. Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance determines nature of problem and recommends appropriate solution.
  17. Performs required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
  18. Evaluates data to determine equipment performance.
  19. May be required to work overtime.
  20. Performs other various duties as may be assigned.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Three to five years of general maintenance mechanic experience.
  3. Must be knowledgeable in skilled trades.

  1. Must possess basic reading, writing, and computation skills.
  2. Ability to continuously improve and learn new skills.
  3. Must possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers and visitors.
  7. Ability to effectively problem-solve.
  8. Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  9. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and assembly drawings.
  10. Must have basic knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment, and materials used within the mechanic’s trade.
  11. Limited understanding of building codes is desirable.
