Position Summary:

Supervises, directs and coordinates overall value stream(s) operations. Assures that on-time delivery and quality is maintained at levels to meet the top tier of the customer’s supplier ratings.  Engage and empower team members to create a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and personal development.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Leads the production team to attain all operational goals in quality, cost of production, and delivery performance.
  • Supports the implementation of tactical plans to achieve Warn Automotive’s Strategic Vision.  Extends Warn Automotive’s Strategic Vision to team leads and team members.
  • Coaches team members and assists in creating development and training plans.  Provides performance feedback and develops succession plan for area(s) of responsibility.  Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Provides training and leadership and represents a positive, enthusiastic role model so as to create a positive place to work.

 

Availability Requirements:

Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers and employees, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site and after-hours. 

 

This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 4:00pm.  This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.  

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or in an applicable technical field would be an advantage.
  • Three or more years of proven supervisory and/or managerial role in a manufacturing environment.
  • College coursework preferred such as Lean Manufacturing, APICS, and Quality Systems.

 

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated successful performance in machining and assembly manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to present results, priorities and actions and to engage the work team to achieve those priorities. 
  • Demonstrated successful leadership in driving performance through lean and continuous improvement methodology.  Visual management systems, metrics, and employee engagement.
  • Proficient with commonly used business software products such as spreadsheets, work processing and database management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills commensurate with the job tasks and position necessary to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers while providing exceptional quality of work and outstanding customer service. Ability to present information in a manner designed to educate or inform other team members and customers in one-on-one or group interactions as directed.
  • Ability to review, comprehend, interpret, process and evaluate effectively written work instructions and procedures written in English, prints, specs and diagrams, and tool gauges, measuring devices and inspection tools in conjunction with the performance of the essential functions and other assigned job duties.

  • Work for extended periods of time in a stationary position daily while operating a computer and other tools and equipment in conjunction with completing required job tasks.  This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.  This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

  • Lift, transport and/or move up to 20 pounds of weight occasionally in the performance of regular duties.  Occasional bending, stooping, walking up and down stairs, standing on a step stool and kneeling may be required.

 

Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:

The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.  This position’s job duties are performed generally in a shop or warehouse type environment.  Team members in this position may be exposed to loud noises from operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals and vapors, and possibly injury associated with work involving manufactured parts, assembly and heavy machinery.  The team member may also occasionally be required to work in an office environment with traditional office lighting and office furniture, as well as consistent and frequent noise, interruptions and other similar distractions.
