The Test Technician works closely with other teams to meet their product/prototype lab testing needs.  Sets up test equipment and conducts tests per RFT, gathers data, and reports results.  Occasionally designs and develops tests and test procedures.

  • Specifies and procures appropriate lab equipment and materials.
  • Maintains and works to improve lab equipment and work area.
  • Develops test plans and procedures, summarizes and documents test results.
  • Oversees instrument repair and calibration.
  • Assists engineers in development and continuous improvement of Warn Automotive products.
  • Aids in engineering, purchasing and outside vendors in finding short and long term solutions to assembly and manufacturing problems.
  • May be required to assist in building prototype systems.
  • Interfaces with the customer (internal and/or external) concerning fit-ups, field problems and possible solutions.
  • Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.




  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology or similar field
  • Two years testing experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with test apparatus control and data acquisition.
  • LabVIEW and National Instruments hardware is preferred.
  • Formal education and/or experience in technical report writing is required.
  • Sound working knowledge of mechanics, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Basic machinist capabilities preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to walk, bend, squat, or twist as well as repetitively push or pull.  The team member must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
