Position Summary:

The Human Resources Manager for DESTACO’s Mount Juliet, TN facility is responsible for providing strategic HR leadership and support in the areas of organization design, culture development, and employee relations to recruitment, onboarding and development of all team members to create, as part of the core team, a best-in-class manufacturing organization in North America integral to the Company’s strategic and annual business objectives. This includes the coordination, and implementation of the human resources strategy aligned with the business strategy through effective, efficient, and simplified delivery of HR solutions. Integral to the is building a high-performance culture and work teams for a sustainable Company-represented facility.


The Human Resources Manager reports to the Vice President of Global Human Resources and has a strong partnership with the Plant Manager.  This position is of key importance and visibility within the Company and the broader Corporate Office. This position is based in Mount Juliet, TN and requires the ability to travel domestically up to 10%. Human Resources support is also provided through the regional and global HR structure.


Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • As a member of the plant leadership team, fosters a culture of transparency, disciplined problem solving, high performance work teams, and continuous improvement.  Strives to ensure the appropriate team, tools, and processes are in place to support these desired cultural traits.
  • Leverages continuous improvement tools to drive continued operational improvements and ensures engagement of the entire team through strong communication and clear direction.
  • Helps execute the HR strategy and owns responsibility for overall HR effectiveness within Mount Juliet.
  • Leads and promotes safety awareness with other key members of the plant team.  Promotes accident prevention and employee involvement regarding a safe work environment.  Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.
  • Develops and builds the plant’s high-performance organizational foundation and team with the core start up team and regional and corporate HR supporting organization. 
  • Develops and implements the workforce plan (hourly and salaried), recruitment and selection strategy and process – hiring, onboarding and retention.
  • Carries out the established employee relations strategy for the local facility and continuously develops best practices and processes to ensure a sustainable high performing and Company-represented facility.
  • Supports the development of Talent and creation of a pipeline to achieve business strategies through partnership with people leaders and global talent management.
  • Coach and provide feedback to people leaders and plant team talent.
  • Implements and manages established and continuously improving HR processes in an excellent and cost-effective way.
  • Manages pay, benefits & compensation for the location with support of the global HR team.

Job Requirements:


  • Requires 7 plus years of progressive Human Resources generalist experience including HR leadership at a manufacturing facility
  • Proven change leadership with the ability to develop and communicate a plan, build commitment, and overcome resistance
  • Successful experience with high performance work teams in a non-union facility
  • Deep understanding of the broader Nashville, TN area and talent market highly desired.
  • Experience with leading and implementing the following in some capacity:
    • Coaching and developing managers, supervisors and team members
    • Performance management process
    • Talent acquisition/recruitment
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement/ Lean processes and toolsl.
  • Track record of driving employee engagement; identification of organizational opportunities and gaps, determining solutions, and implementing them
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in excel, PowerPoint

Education and Certification Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources Management or Organizational Development
  • Master’s degree or MBA with an HR focus is preferred.  PHR, SPHR, or GPHR a plus


Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 10% or more, mostly within the US
