Belanger Inc, is part of OPW VWS, a leader in the Vehicle Wash Manufacturing industry. We have an immediate need for a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor at our Novi facility located off of 9 Mile Road between Novi and Schoolcraft. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor leads employees in Receiving, Parts Shipping, Equipment Packaging and Shipping, and Logistics. This position is responsible for achieving, or exceeding, key metrics in Shipping and Receiving including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, drive process improvement, and also be willing to roll up his or her sleeves to assist the team as needed. This is a first shift position, M-F with daily OT and Saturdays as needed to meet customer demands.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safety – Lead safety in the department by following safety rules and programs. Seek and eliminate any safety risks. Hold others accountable to safety expectations.
  • Quality – Meet or exceed internal and external quality metrics. Use LEAN/CI tools to identify and eliminate root causes for any defects in the shipping process
  • Delivery – Lead shipping teams to ensure shipments meet the customer requested date.
  • Inventory – Maintain accurate inventory placement and tracking.
  • Productivity – Execute cost saving initiatives and motivate team to hit output goals. Participate in Kaizen events.
  • Team Management – Drive team engagement through excellent leadership including, but not limited to:
    • Setting clear objectives for the team through daily huddle board meetings and other communication avenues
    • Listening to understand challenges
    • Providing tools and support needed
  • Support the Supply Chain Department in cycle count process and receipt issues
  • Work with the Logistics Coordinator and other departments to resolve issues on shipment delays
  • Support OPW Vehicle Wash Solutions Compliance on shipping and receiving documentation as needed.
  • Responsible for all RMAs returned to stock, assist Receiving Lead with escalated issues
  • Follow all company rules and policies
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years in Shipping/Receiving, Warehousing, or Logistics
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience in ERP Systems
  • Strong communication skills, delivering thoughts and ideas clearly written and verbally
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with CI/LEAN tools and concepts
  • Good understanding of ISO including the requirements of following ISO documentation and processes
  • Experience working with Microsoft Teams
