The Role
As our next Electronics Engineer you will be a key part of the engineering team responsible for developing best in class solutions for marking and coding equipment. You will be responsible for developing analog and digital circuitry as well as managing the interfaces to external equipment.
What you will do:
- Design and test PCBAs to provide power and control to thermal transfer and print & apply labelling systems.
- Specify and design the electrical components (such as PCBA’s), cabling, and external system interfaces.
- Collaborate with the wider engineering team to ensure optimum system design with mechanical and firmware considerations met.
- Liaise with Systems Engineering and with Product Marketing to understand product needs and system requirements.
- Work closely with the Reliability and Compliance team to ensure the products meet the required standards.
- Support the manufacturing and sourcing teams for DfX analysis.
- Drive quality and efficiency by setting an outstanding example of high-quality design, implementation, and validation in your individual work.
- Research, champion, facilitate and improve best practices and tools to increase team efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
What you need to have:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in electronics development.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong technical skills in digital, embedded CPU, basic analogue and interface board design.
- Solid understanding of Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DfM, DfA).
- Experience of real time embedded systems and/or electro-mechanical systems is required.
- Familiarity with Altium PCB design software and ARM processors would be beneficial.
