Position Summary:  

As a member of the PSG Executive Team and reporting into the President, the Vice President – Industrial Business Unit is directly responsible for shaping and executing growth initiatives for the industrial business unit’s sites and global sales team.  The role is responsible for a P&L of approx. $370M and all functional responsibility at four global manufacturing locations (U.S., France, and Australia).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and executes a strategic business plan for the division including achievement of assigned metrics such as those related to financial forecasts and customer satisfaction.
  • Works with site General Managers and leadership teams to drive leading edge lean operations, processes, and technologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, and reduce costs.
  • Provides leadership to foster a culture of high-performance, accountability, professional development, and ethical behaviors across the business unit.
  • Works with the sales leaders to identify new business opportunities to foster growth and expansion.
  • Collaborates and communicates at all levels of the organization to meet corporate and business unit goals.
  • Approves contracts, actively assisting with negotiations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, new technologies, and market conditions relevant to the division and industry.
  • Leads the commercial and operational reviews in due diligence for potential acquisitions.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and company policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree level in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering and/or have a relevant professional institute qualification. MBA preferred, but not required.
  • Ten plus years of progressive strategic leadership within a multi-location global manufacturing organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to senior executives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and discretion.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, TOC.
  • Proven expertise in driving lean implementation to improve cost, quality, delivery and safety.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of time

 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Possess a broad background in mechanical engineering / manufacturing with a wide range of knowledge on manufacturing and production processes (casting, fabricated steel, machining, and assembly).
  • Experience in offshoring / outsourcing
  • Experience in leading commercial teams serving multiple end use markets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
