We are looking for a new team member in our Applications Engineering Team at our location in Oberglatt ZH immediately or by appointment.

 

Mechanical Applications Engineer - Pumps and Drives (m/w)

 

You have the responsibility for technically correct and on-time process design and mechanical configuration of Polymer Pumps and their auxiliaries. You have the aim to develop a deep knowledge about the above-mentioned products, their constructive design, but also about its function in the process of our customers.

 

 

Your responsibilities:

 

  • Selection and detail engineering of pumps including sealing systems for different virgin polymer products like PET, PC, PBAT, PS, Biopolymers as well as recycled products of different processes 
  • Selection and detail engineering of drive components (mainly electrical motors, gearboxes, couplings, instruments and rarely frequency converters), instruments and utility supply systems for Polymer Pumps and special drive executions for Extrusion Pumps
  • Description of customer benefits for the selected equipment to the attention of sales
  • Creation of specifications, including purchasing and sale texts, for those components as well as preparation of technical documentation for customer quotations and orders
  • Support our Sales team with in-depth application and product know-how, occasionally also at customer site (worldwide)
  • Execution of damage analyses and evaluation of warranty cases from application point of view in close collaboration with the After Sales department. 

 

 

Your experience:

 

  • At least Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering - preferably with a focus on rotating machinery 
  • Experience within the polymer production or chemical processing industry is an advantage 
  • Comprehension of technical drawings, P & ID schemes and electrical schematics 
  • Experience in working in international teams as well as for projects of engineering companies
  • Good command of SAP and Microsoft 365
  • Strong analytical skills and innovative mindset
  • Fluent German and English language skills
