Drafter- Engineering

Dover Precision Components is seeking a Drafter for our Cook Compression brand. This role is based at our Odessa, TX facility. We offer competitive pay and benefits, and are part of Dover Corporation, an $8 billion global company, recognized for our growth and stability!

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Develop detailed drawings based on design layouts and generate releases to the manufacturing engineering department
• Serve as the primary manufacturing contact for resolving drawing related questions during the manufacturing process, utilizing strong knowledge of contemporary manufacturing methods
• Create, revise and control engineering and manufacturing related drawings, using customer data, internally provided engineering standards and design information 
• Assign part numbers for new items, create and maintain E-BOMS and M-BOMS (bills of material) for component assemblies in ERP and PLM 
• Assist others in finding existing and legacy drawings, part numbers and/or specifications 
• Coordinate and work closely with Inside/ outside sales, operations, manufacturing personnel and engineering to ensure design requirements are met and the best manufacturing processes are used
• Assist production with drawing needs/questions, and work with operators to optimize drawing layouts for ease of use on the manufacturing floor
• Survey parts upon arrival, generate and check manufacturing detail drawings, and add required data into the Item Master database
• Measure parts for reverse-engineering and/or identification of existing components
• Ensure conformity of Cook Compression drawings against customer requirements 
• Work with the purchasing to inventory of exotic materials that are in the process of being released 
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, working with collective group to prioritize 

 WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 2+ years’ experience using 3D modeling software and related manufacturing drafting experience
• Ability to read & develop engineering design prints with geometric dimensioning and tolerances
• Metrology experience and use of different measuring devices including calipers and micrometers
• Understanding of Manufacturing processes
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills

• Strong computer skills and attention to detail
• A sense of curiosity and interest in learning beyond their job description to aid in future growth of the department and business

ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES

• Associates Degree in engineering or related field
• Experience with Oil & gas industry
