Senior Designer- Autodesk Inventor

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this role, you will interpret Engineering instructions and requirements to create high tolerance, multiple- component mechanical 3D models and 2D drawings that meet the application requirements. You will work cross-functionally on manufacturing design, processes, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Create 3D models in Autodesk Inventor and 2D drawings using modeling software. 
• Assist in establishing PLM workflows and product configuration management.
• Create Item and Part Structure (BOM) information within ERP system.
• Perform checking duties on assembly and component level drawings.
• Participate in and contribute to process improvement and design for manufacturability activities.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals as needed.
• Participate in client/contractor meetings and resolving client/engineering and management project issues.
• Support manufacturing personnel with evaluations of deviated components, corrective action investigations, and other quality related activities.
• Support engineering process development and design for manufacturability efforts through specific assignments as directed by Engineering Management.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 5+ years’ industry experience in design and drafting, preferably in precision industrial machinery component design.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling.
• Experience with PLM workflows, product configuration and AutoCAD data management.
• Experience with GD&T.
• Ability to utilize precision measuring and surveying instruments such as calipers, inside/outside micrometers, and gauges.
• Understanding of Engineering Principles and Design Practices
• Demonstrated ability to apply continuous improvement techniques to existing processes and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to create ideas and develop solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills and attention to detail.

ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES

• Experienced with precision design and manufacturing processes related to reciprocating compressors.
• PTC Windchill experience.
