Financial Analyst

Dover Precision Components is hiring an accounting- based Financial Analyst to support our Engineered Bearings business, a leading designer and manufacturer of hydrodynamic fluid film bearings, active magnetic bearing systems and seals for high-performing turbomachinery and rotating equipment in oil & gas, power generation, marine and industrial markets.

In this hybrid (onsite/remote) role, you will work onsite at our South Houston location near Pearland, Texas 3 days a week. Work remotely 2 days a week if you’d like.   

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As part of Engineered Bearings’ global finance team, you will help manage business performance and the balance sheet. You will work alongside and influence other departments such as Sales, Production, and Supply Chain to analyze business performance, make recommendations for improvements, and measure progress. In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with business leaders and the Senior Finance Business Partner in managing business performance, updating weekly revenue pulse, monthly forecasts, tracking KPIs, margin analysis for specific jobs and product lines, and analyzing R&D spend.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations teams on the business side as well as Controllership and Shared Service organizations on working capital management (A/R, inventory, Fixed assets).
  • Perform specific month end and quarter end close activities, support reporting and consolidation activities.
  • Maintain and document Internal Controls (SOX) across the business unit.
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence reports to monitor KPI metrics, including order book management, trend analysis, margin analysis to help the team make data-driven decisions.
  • Communicate and coordinate with global, cross functional teams.
  • Attend management meetings to maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues and risks in respective focus areas.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced analysts and/or interns.
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses, reporting, and projects as needed to support the business.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within industrial or manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, vlookups, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-managed, efficient, organized, and flexible.

  • Experience with matrix-structured and global work environment.
  • Accounting or Finance experience in lean manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools.
