What the Role Involves:

 

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk who will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and performing other accounting duties related to  accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Recording and maintaining financial transactions
  • Audits freight bills against freight manifests.
  • Answers all vendor inquiries.
  • Reconciles vendor statements.
  • Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
  • Assists with monthly closings.
  • Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Associate degree in accounting, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computerized financial system, Vista, SQL, Crystal Reports and Excel.
  • 5 to 7 years in accounting or combined experience in finance and accounting.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point, and capable of learning other personal computer applications (Vista).
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Good problem resolution skills to make decisions related to customer issues and escalate to leadership.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, able to communicate effectively and expeditiously while maintaining professional conduct with all levels of the organization as well as third parties.
  • Effectively prioritizes and executes tasks in high-pressure environments, able to manage project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
