What the Role Involves:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated leader to oversee our field technicians through various projects in the Construction department. This role involves managing the entire project cycle, from planning and implementation to tracking short and long-term refrigeration installation projects with clear deliverables. As a Construction Manager, you will focus on key performance objectives such as quality, safety, training, financial results, effective scheduling, and management to deliver outstanding services to our customers.

Lead, Train, and Manage: Guide Project Managers and Technicians to ensure projects are completed within defined timelines.

Administrative and Business Support: Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.

Estimation and Bidding: Assist in job bidding and job walks to support the estimation and management teams.

Collaboration: Work closely with Program Managers and Project Managers to successfully determine and execute project scopes of work (SOW).

Resource Management: Identify and allocate necessary resources (time, money, equipment) to complete projects on time and within budget.

Quality Reviews: Visit project sites for quality reviews, team support, progress tracking, and documentation as per customer and internal requirements.

Field Work: Act as a Project Manager on projects to understand the full scope of work.

Scheduling: Develop effective project schedules in collaboration with foremen, project managers, and project coordinators.

Communication: Implement communication plans to meet client reporting requirements and keep all personnel informed, fostering a positive and proactive team environment.

Budget Management: Develop and manage cost budgets to meet estimated margins.

Client Objectives: Determine client objectives and evaluation measures for project completion.

Subcontracting: Prequalify and hire subcontract trades and personnel to execute projects.

Travel: Travel to job sites for visits and documentation, approximately 30% to 40% of work time.

HR Partnership: Collaborate with the HR team to add resources as needed.

Managerial Tasks: Complete all managerial tasks assigned by Dover and other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Ten (10)+ years of experience in a Project Management or Foreman level position.

Bachelor’s Degree in technical or construction education program or 15 years of Project Management, Installation, Service experience in the Refrigeration/ HVAC industry in lieu of education.

Knowledge of refrigeration installation best practices and documentation requirements.

Proficient in reading construction blueprints, specifications and contract documents.

Able to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

Able to work with large dollar amounts and be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent with the ability to draw and interpret bar graphs and tracking documents.

Employee will have access to Company confidential information and must be responsible enough to protect such information.

Capable of communicating effectively and expeditiously while maintaining professional conduct with all levels of the organization as well as third parties.

Knowledge of DX and CO2 refrigeration, project management, workplace safety, contractor/vendor management, customer relations, and bid development.

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability

Computer Skills – strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Email) and other system applications currently being used (Maxwell, etc.). Strong work ethic, self-motivated and a professional attitude

Knowledge of OSHA Safety regulations

Adhere to Hillphoenix safety program, policies, and procedures.
