Job Title:  Refrigeration Construction Journeyman

What the Role Involves:

As a Refrigeration Construction Journeyman, you'll be installing supermarket refrigeration systems which include electrical, plumbing, piping, and fixture handling/installation.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 5 years of relevant experience in leading and directing refrigeration installations on job sites.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• OSHA certification 10 or 30 preferred

The Ideal Candidate:

• Provide support on construction jobs by piping cooler boxes, overhead lines, compressor rooms/houses, and refrigeration cases, including the electrical wiring as required to complete the project.
• Provide the required installation of pipe hangers as directed by the Foreman.
• Provide construction support by brazing, insulating, and hanging piping, and assists the Construction Foreman as needed.
• Provide support by hanging cooler box coils, and cases and installing new supermarket refrigeration systems or remodeling existing supermarket refrigeration systems.
• On-the-job training of Apprentices and Pipefitters.
• Be a champion of safety - must abide by all safety protocol and be an example to others when safety is an issue.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations.
• Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fittings with the ability to pipe supermarket refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints on refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
• Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Travel 75% of the time or when required. Work shifts vary and are driven by project requirements
