Job Title:        Senior Refrigeration Construction Pipefitter

Location:        Phoenix, AZ

Whether your world is a supermarket, a multi-store chain with refrigerated products, a convenience store, or any of a wide variety of industrial applications. Start-to-finish development, coordination, and installation of refrigeration projects and programs of any size or complexity.

 

What we are looking for:

Senior Refrigeration Construction Pipefitter will be performing the installation of supermarket refrigeration systems which includes electrical, piping, and fixture handling/installation.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

  • Provide support on construction jobs by piping cooler boxes, overhead lines, compressor rooms/houses, and refrigeration cases.
  • Provide the required installation of pipe hangers as directed by the Foreman.
  • Provide construction support by brazing, insulating, and hanging piping, and assists the Construction Foreman as needed.
  • Provide support by hanging cooler box coils, and cases and installing new supermarket refrigeration systems or remodeling existing supermarket refrigeration systems.
  • Be a champion of safety - must abide by all safety protocols and be an example to others when safety is an issue.
  • Provide guidance and training to other individuals on the team who need assistance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5+  years’ relevant experience in pipefitting in refrigeration installations on job sites.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.

To be a great fit for the role:

  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing and pipe fitting with the ability to pipe supermarket refrigeration equipment.
  • Knowledge of brazing refrigeration piping
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints on refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Travel – 50% of the time or when required. Work shifts vary and are driven by project requirements.

Working Environment:

 

In performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee is required to stand and walk throughout the workday; climb or balance; stoop, crouch, and kneel. The employee must be able to climb on ladders, roofs, and on occasion in high precarious places. The employee must be able to work in outdoor conditions where temperatures can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Vision requirements include close, color, and peripheral vision. Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and risk of electrical shock in damp, humid, or freezing conditions.

While on job sites, this person must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols which means this person may be required to wear personal protective devices such as but not limited to hearing and eye protection.
