Business Operations Director EMEIA

General Function:

           

Directs sales, purchasing (supply chain), implements quality policies, distribution, and operations for the CZ Republic, stocking, and service center, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Has overall sales, expense, and personnel responsibility for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa continent.
  • Coordinates distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Belvac Production Machinery, Inc. President and Executive Staff personnel.
  • Confers with customers and representatives of Can Making, Beverage, and Food Packaging industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area.
  • Maintains customer training facility in Europe (Plzen).
  • Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees. Coordinates Warranty decisions for all areas of Belvac Europe's responsibility conferring regularly with Belvac HQ.
  • Oversees analysis of Markets in Europe, the Middle East, and the Africa Continent.
  • Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance the profitable operation of the division.
  • Supports Belvac Corporate Quality System working closely with Belvac Director – Quality Assurance
  • Reviews operations of competing organizations and plans and directs sales programs to develop new markets. Creates business plans for improving Spare parts Business performance.  Follows up on all equipment quotations either in person or by assignment.
  • Recommends Sales & Expense budgets to management.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                 

 

Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise the employees in Belvac EMEIA. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; timely appraisal performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving personnel problems interfacing with HQ Human Resources where appropriate.

Coordinates activities with:

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from a four-year college or university with an Engineering or Business concentration.  Master’s degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) a plus.

 

Experience:

Five years of industry Can-Making experience. Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in Sales, Marketing, or Engineering functions for a capital equipment organization.

 

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.  English proficiency is a must-have.

 

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of how contract management software is used and understood. Database software should become part of the analysis the candidate uses in the job; Project Management software understanding can assist in solving customer concerns and is used on a regular basis by the incumbent while Spreadsheet software is used on a regular basis by the incumbent as is Word Processing software.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:  

  • Technical confidence in discussing highly engineered solutions for packaging and rigid metal forming.
  • Comfortable using English and communicating in English as the primary method of business communications.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  This position may require up to 50%  international travel, away from Czech Republic main branch.

 

For this position, when not traveling on business you are expected to be in office at the Czech Republic Plzen location during normal work periods, Monday through Friday.
