Director of Operations & Business Development, EMEIA

Belvac is looking for a Director of Operations & Business Development to lead our team in the Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa (EMEIA) region.

This is a key leadership role where you will be responsible for the general management of our Assembly, Distribution & Customer Service facility in Plzeň, Czechia. You'll also be personally responsible for undertaking the business development function for the region. You will report directly to the US-based Global VP of Business Development.

What You'll Do:

 

As the Director of Operations & Business Development, you will lead our EMEIA team and oversee critical functions, including:

  • Business Leadership: Provide general management and oversight for the Plzeň facility, including purchasing, supply chain, assembly, quality assurance, distribution, and customer service.
  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute business plans to improve the performance of our spare parts business. You will also analyze markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and direct sales programs to develop new opportunities and markets.
  • Operational Excellence: Coordinate distribution and warehousing in line with company policies. You will also review production costs and product quality, modifying programs to ensure profitable operations.
  • Customer Relationships: Meet with customers in the can-making, beverage, and food packaging industries to promote and evaluate services. You will also maintain our customer training facility in Europe.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage subordinate supervisors in the EMEIA division. You'll be responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating employees, as well as resolving any personnel issues.

 

What We're Looking For:

 

We are seeking a candidate who is a visionary leader and a strategic thinker with a strong background in the capital equipment industry.

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business is required. An MBA is a plus.
  • Experience - Business Development: You will need to have at least five years of experience in being directly responsible for the sales of Capital Equipment to the can making, or a closely related industry.
  • Experience - Operational Management: You will be established in leadership and operations management, with experience gained from over 10 years within an industrial manufacturing environment, having had progressive responsibilities within either engineering, supply-chain or manufacturing functions.
  • Skills: You must be fluent in English and be comfortable using it as the primary language for business communications. You should also have technical expertise in highly engineered solutions for packaging and rigid metal forming. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are essential for this role.
  • Travel: This position requires up to 50% international travel. When not traveling, you will work on-site at our Plzeň, Czechia location, Monday through Friday
