As a member of the Sales team, the Solution Architect (SA) is responsible for conceptualizing and designing robust and scalable solutions that align with our clients’ strategy and support their long term growth goals. The SA will support direct and partner sales opportunities, giving technical input & providing appropriate solutions based on customer needs.  


This role shall include the responsibility to convert customer requirements into an architecture and scope of work that will serve as the design for the solution being implemented and, as a result, is a key role that contributes heavily towards the success of each client implementation. The SA is responsible for transforming the requirements into architecture and design documents that can be used by the rest of the team to create the solution.


Key deliverables include high-level system design and workflows, architecture, equipment selection, and integration design. The position will determine the most appropriate product solutions while adhering to conventions of Best Practices, including standard solutions where possible, to fulfil the customer requirements. This will result in evaluation reports, solution designs and engineering package standards selections that will enable the sales team to quote the application & the Professional Services group to successfully deploy the solutions.


The successful candidate will have advanced communication and negotiation skills, as well as an innate ability to simplify complex technology concepts and to plan, prioritize and seamlessly integrate all moving parts to deploy successful solutions.




  • Architect innovative and standardized solutions for client-based implementations through technical requirements gathering, use-case discovery, SOW review, and platform/packaging line analysis
  • Generating convincing and substantiated technology and architecture recommendations
  • Serving as the lead on documenting requirements around application architecture, solution architecture, technical design, development of proof of concepts and deployment support for clients, third-party vendors, technology partners and internal project stakeholders
  • Play key role in promoting solution adoption during the sales cycle with participation in the full sales cycle for key sales direct and partner sales opportunities.  Travel to these opportunities and needed
  • Help the direct and indirect sales teams drive revenue and exceed targets
  • Propose high-level architecture solutions to meet customer requirements while maintaining commonality with other similar applications.
  • Serve as the lead strategist for all implementation, customization, and integration requirements
  • Capture, document, train and share architectural IP at the solution level across the enterprise, and define/document best practices
  • Partner internally to make ensure solutions are aligned with the technical requirements, market analytics and functional road map.
  • Provide technical support and consultation to the sales team, performing and/or ensuring quality execution of Feasibility/Engineering Studies
  • Help to determine customer requirements such that correct system configuration can be determined prior to quotation.
  • Production and maintenance of Application Evaluation procedures and Solution Standards libraries.
  • Responsible for working with Professional Services in producing quotes.
  • Responsible for smooth handover of solution design to Professional Services, or partner for implementation
  • Responsible for maintaining an on-going awareness of machine vision & other applicable technologies, advancements and industry trends (ie. periodic review of related industry publications)
  • Arrange & perform product demonstrations
  • The position involves approximately 40% travel, both domestically and internationally



  • Knowledgeable of packaging industry automation products
  • Experience converting client requirements into architecture and design with full support of the business development cycle.
  • Familiarity with PC-based hardware, control & communication interfacing.
  • Computer skills and aptitude for quickly learning new software tools and computer hardware
  • Knowledge of Engineering drawing & working knowledge of ACAD.
  • Experience in dealing with clients
  • Must be comfortable in a highly dynamic environment, working with a variety of disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Possesses strong customer relation skills
  • Nice to have, understanding the anti-counterfeiting, anti-diversion market’s, operational insight and Compliance requirements, buying patterns, market drivers to assist in the sales cycle as a subject matter expert




  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electrical, Computer, Software, or Automation
  • 5 + years of practical Engineering experience; process automation, automated manufacturing experience preferred



  • Must have working knowledge and experience using e-mail, Internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Working knowledge of management software packages (MS Office, MS Project, etc.) and CRM
