SUMMARY:
The Production Planner is responsible for issuing and tracking work orders and related Sales Orders, ensuring that required material are supplied to the production floor, as according to the production schedule. Other responsibilities include expediting and prioritizing work orders and actively participating in Daily Tier Review meetings. This position functions as a liaison between company’s Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing and Shipping/Receiving departments. It is a focal point among all departments to effectively communicate and help meet customer and revenue expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Production Planner will daily review and execute the Scheduler Workbench and other planning functionality of our current ERP system to assure proper material plans exist.
- Partner with Shop Floor leadership to assure accurate labor reporting and review of Job Order progress to support revenue targets and customer demands.
- Production Planner will maintain, review, and make adjustments to the dispatching system and lists, assuring the most accurate information is communicated to the value streams.
- Update Tier board metrics on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as assigned and/or as needed.
- Effective sequencing of jobs, processes and assignments to individual work centers or lines and providing interface, in partnership with shop floor leadership, between shop floor and facility leadership.
- Communicate with customer service and internal customers on status of job orders and estimated completion. Ensure information needed for labeling of finished goods is accurate and correct.
Education and/or Experience * High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a CNC Machining environment a plus.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external customers, using skill and diplomacy and have the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and comfortable with ERP Enterprise software. Syteline experience a plus.
- An understanding of Bill of Materials, routings, and inter-relationships of Job orders and customer orders.
- Must possess strong knowledge, understanding, and experience in various problem-solving and participatory management techniques.
Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in business, operations management or similar field with 1 - 3 years directly related experience; or an Associate Degree with 4-7 years of progressively responsible, directly related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
