Main position objectives
The Quality Technician is responsible for assuring components and equipment meet quality standards. This position will be responsible for various inspection points including incoming goods inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection of finished equipment. Will work to develop the vendor base to improve incoming quality and help develop inspection and test methods to improve work in process and finished goods.
Position description – Tasks, Responsibilities, Competencies
· Develop and perform procedures for inspection of incoming goods, work in process and finished
equipment.
· Develop and implement procedures as part of a Vendor Certification Program
· Perform physical inspections on incoming components, work in process and finished equipment.
· Utilize problem solving techniques for root cause corrective action
· Use the NCMR system and train others on it for proper documentation of quality issues
· Work with and support other departments to improve quality issues
· Perform calibrations as needed and help support the instrument calibration program
· Maintain and promote safety standards
· Use micrometers and other measuring equipment for inspections

Mandatory
· High school diploma or equal. Additional technical skill sets is a plus
Desirable
· Quality Inspector Certification (ASQ or other)
Professional experience (description incl. No. of years)
Mandatory
· Min 3 years of experience in a Quality Control / Improvement role
· Min 3 years of experience using measuring / test equipment including micrometers and multi-meters
· Ability to read a CAD drawing and measure critical dimensions
Desirable
· Experience in metal processing, welding or mechanical assembly is desirable
