Position Summary:

The Project Manager, Remote Handling manages key customer and internal projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for management regarding status of projects.

The successful candidate will work directly with customers and internal clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.

This person will work closely with the Operations Manager, Production Scheduler, Purchasing Agent, Engineering Manager, Sales Manager, and Customer Service Representatives to support project activities. Projects to be managed include:

  • Major production orders requiring multi-function coordination
  • New product development projects
  • Internal improvement projects
  • Major proposals

 

Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Coordinate resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the customer and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with customers as well as other staff members
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
  • Work with Export Control to ensure that all required documentation and information is presented for screening
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
  • Adhere to all safety regulations

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • 2+ years working experience in project management
  • Regulated environments a plus
    • ASME NQA-1 preferred
    • ISO 9001 or FDA accepted
  • Nuclear laboratory, radio-pharmaceutical and containment applications a plus

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Project Management, Initiation through Completion & Close-out (Scope, Schedule, Budget)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Good communicator including facilitation, verbal, and written skills
  • Skill in communicating priorities, plans and information to employees throughout the organization
  • Analytical thinker, ability to make decisions and problem-solve in a timely manner

Education and Certification Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study (business, engineering) or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus

 

Travel Requirements: 

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
