Job Title: Refrigeration Mid-Level Service Technician
Location: Phoenix, AZ
What we are looking for:
Responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of commercial refrigeration systems, HVAC equipment, and ice machines that are installed in supermarkets, convenience stores, and food service establishments.
What you will be responsible for in this role:
- Performs diagnosis and repair work on conventional and rack refrigeration systems, evaporative and air-cooled condensers, ice machines, water pumps, compressors, air handlers, electric motors, and all types of HVAC units. Then returns all equipment to manufacturer operating specifications with a goal of zero callbacks.
- Independently performs preventative maintenance on the same equipment at customer sites as listed above to assure optimal operating efficiencies and less downtime for the customer.
- Completes all paperwork in a timely manner and adheres to customer documentation procedures.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
What are the basic qualifications?
- High School Diploma or GED
- EPA Certification, EPA 608 minimum types I and II or Universal
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the diagnosis and repair and maintenance of commercial refrigeration or HVAC equipment.

- Certification from technical school or equivalent experience a PLUS!
- Basic computer skills
- Good driving record and valid State Driver license
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated and a professional attitude
- Ability to perform the job in a safe manner
- Proficient with diagnostic and repairs for self-contained refrigeration systems, walk ins, ice machines repairs, and HVAC equipment.
- Basic knowledge of supermarket refrigeration energy management systems a PLUS
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with customers as working in customer locations
- Demonstrated ability to achieve quality results
- Able to be on call rotation- nights, weekends, and evenings
- Must be able and willing to take the lead when more than one tech required for job
- Must be willing and able to work long hours on your feet, participate in on-call rotation which includes nights, weekends, and one or more holidays each year
Working Environment:
In performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee is required to stand and walk throughout the workday; climb or balance; stoop, crouch and kneel. The employee must be able to climb on ladders, roofs and on occasion in high precarious places. The employee must be able to work in outdoor conditions where temperatures can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Vision requirements include close, color and peripheral vision. Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and risk of electrical shock in damp, humid, or freezing conditions.
While on jobsites, this person must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols which means this person may be required to wear personal protective devices such as but not limited to hearing and eye protection.
