Job Title:        Electro-Mechanical Technician

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for routine maintenance support to the operations departments in a highly automated environment. This multi-craft position (electrical, mechanical, and electronic) will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical, electronic, and electrical industrial equipment for a designated department within the plant. The ideal candidate must have a continuous improvement mindset while achieving the overall objectives with preventative maintenance and quick repair for trouble calls from Production Leaders.

 

What you will be responsible for in this role: (list job duties/responsibilities)

  • Assists other Technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g., multi-meter, laptop)
  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot & repair electrical, electronic systems, control and components of industrial machines, tools, and production/utility equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Including but not limited to seals, gaskets and bearings on motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, PC logic controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and external Input/Output (I/O) devices where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.

 

What are the basic qualifications?

  • Enrolled in Trade/Technical School certification
  • 3+ years Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • 3+ years plus Electrical troubleshooting and repair

 

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

  • Trade/Technical School certification
  • 5+ years Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • 5+ years plus Electrical troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience in robotics
  • Controls Troubleshooting experience
  • Networking Troubleshooting experience

 

To be a great fit for the role:

  • Must be able to follow instructions and exercise good judgment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power and control, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanic principals.
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Knowledge to troubleshoot causes of operating errors and decide the best course of action to fix.
  • Must be proficient using all electrical measuring instruments.
  • Ability to install equipment, machine controls, conduit, and wiring.
  • Ability to repair machines or systems using the required tools.
  • Must have working knowledge of Lockout/Tag our procedures, NEC rules and regulations.
  • Must have ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Must have good teamwork and communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have computer skills necessary to interface with machinery programs.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and fabricate from basic sketches/drawings and be able to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Must be able to work with machine operators, mechanics, contractors and/or vendors.
  • Must be a team player and work well with others.
  • Must have a positive attitude.
