The Trade Compliance Analyst will report directly to the Global Compliance Director and will perform a variety of duties necessary to support the company’s compliance program with import/export regulations and operations. Your main responsibility will be global product classification related to Harmonized Tariff System (HTS or commodity codes), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), UK strategic Export Control List, military and dual-use items in order to facilitate proper import and export product declaration to Customs Authorities and identification of export control license requirements. 
 
Responsibilities:
•    Identify and classify with accurate Export (ECCN) and Import (HTS, HS) classifications for our products
•    Ensure compliance with UK and U.S. Export Control regulations, as well as conforming with internal corporate policies and procedures.
•    Export controls and license determination for all exports and re-exports of tangible and intangible goods
•    UK Export Licensing: Submission and management of export license applications to the UK Department for International Trade Export Control Joint Unit (“DIT-ECJU”) via SPIRE to ensure UK export licenses meet company requirements.
•    Monitors and maintains trade compliance data elements in the companies’ systems.
•    Support periodic internal assessments on the trade compliance program. Identify risk areas and recommend improvements.

 

Skills
•    Ability to identify, acquire, and analyze pertinent data to drive recommendations and decisions
•    Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills

•    Knowledge and understanding of UK and U.S. export laws, regulations, and guidelines
•    Strong understanding on how to classify. (ECCN and HTS classification)
•    Demonstrated attention to detail.

•    Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
•    Ability to multi-task and discern priorities.
•    Ability to collaborate on a team.


Education and Experience:
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in import /export compliance and operations
•    Thorough knowledge of UK, EU, and US import/export regulations, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, HMRC, Export Control Joint Unit, and Department of International Trade
•    Must demonstrate excellent knowledge on Classification (ECCN and HTS) 
•    Must demonstrate an extensive understanding and application of export classification and licens-ing principles, practices, and concepts.
