Essential Responsibilities:


  • Design of circuits involving sensors, analog, mixed signal circuits, microcontroller/microprocessor, memories, various communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, RS485, CAN, Ethernet) etc.
  • Design for EMC, product certifications like FCC, CE, IC, CCC, SASO, ATEX, UL etc. Working with external test houses for certifications.
  • Design of safety products, Wireless products, IoT products, Sensor systems.
  • Design of product involving sensor, actuators, and other HMI modules
  • Full life cycle product development
  • Translates VOC information into actionable design objectives for OPW products.
  • Communicates with team members to insure clear understanding of customer requirements.
  • Define microprocessor selection, relevant interfacing circuits and input/output communications at the module and systems level.
  • Validates and troubleshoots product functionality during on-site customer visits as required.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN bus, SPI and I2C.
  • Identify and implement design improvements to increase reliability, reduce cost and increase service life.
  • Support manufacturing and supply chaining to ensure products are being manufactured and tested to meet expectation for quality and reliability.
  • Conduct and/or participate in Project Design Teams for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating parts, components or integrated circuitry for board or system level hardware and firmware implementation.
  • Create and maintain requirements and design document (internal)
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills




  • BS in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering Technology
  • 5+ Years’ Experience in Hardware design
  • Professional use with 8/16/32-bit and ARM processors.
  • Experience with Altium Software
  • Domestic field travel (10%) as required for investigative site/customer visits and troubleshooting. May include international travel at some point.
  • Position is co-located at a company facility.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience designing for FCC, CE, IC, FM, ATEX, UL Certifications for intrinsically Safe environments.
  • Experience with IoT and mobile app development
  • Proven experience performing troubleshooting during integration of software and hardware in the Design State of Design for Six Sigma.
