Dover Precision Components is hiring a Buyer for our Inpro/Seal business. We are a world leader in the design and manufacture of permanet bearing protection and complete shaft sealing solutions for a variety of rotating equipment across multiple industries. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Are you a proactive and analytical Buyer with strong critical thinking skills and a strategic approach to purchasing? If so, we’d love to hear from you! In this role, you will ensure the best pricing, lead times, and supplier performance while maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role requires expertise in procurement compliance, ERP system experience, and data analysis to support efficient purchasing and inventory management for fuel supply and mine-related procurement needs. Responsibilities include:
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Purchase Order Management: Analyze and validate purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with company needs.
- Vendor Strategy & Negotiation: Work strategically with fuel suppliers and mine equipment vendors to secure the best pricing, quality, and lead times.
- Vendor Performance Tracking: Monitor and track vendor On-Time Delivery (OTD), ensuring suppliers meet performance expectations. Escalate issues and work on improvements when necessary.
Supply Chain Optimization & Compliance
- Evaluate and act upon MRP requirements for supply and operations.
- Manage contracts and procurement agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve equipment quality, delivery, or cost issues.
- Implement Kanban, vendor-managed inventory, and pull-based replenishment processes to optimize availability and material flow.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Drive increased inventory turns and supply cycle optimization.
- Identify and reduce excess or obsolete related materials while ensuring adequate supply.
- Manage supplier scorecards and performance metrics for continuous improvement in procurement and supply efficiency.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 2+ years procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating procurement and supplier performance.
- Experience with ERP systems, such as Syteline or SAP and procurement workflows.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis, and visualization).
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, supply chain best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities, including logistics and material planning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field.
- Experience in supplier negotiations and cost reduction strategies specific supply contracts.
- Power BI experience for reporting and dashboards.
- Experience with 5S, Kanban, and lean supply chain practices in operations.
