  1. SUMMARY:

 

The Design Engineer must be a mature, confident and technically astute person. Responsible for designing bearing isolators, this person must be familiar with CAD software.

 

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND:

 

  • Design bearing isolators to fulfill customer requirements
  • Analyze information received from customer and utilize CAD software to create designs
  • Create complete manufacturing drawings specifications as well as proposals for quotation
  • Some travel will be involved to assist sales and distribution personnel in analyzing potential applications
  • Collaborate with customers, distributors and manufacturing personnel to clarify or resolve problems through design process
  • Evaluate engineering test results for possible applications for development of systems or other uses
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

  1. QUALIFICATIONS:

 

The successful candidate requires strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly deal with technical customer issues, as well as to develop and execute communication plans related to quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidates is also required to have experience in problem solving using formal methodologies such as PDCA, 8D, Kepner-Tregoe, six-sigma, etc. LEAN experience is preferred.

 

  1. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical degree required. A student enrolled in their final year of a 4 year Engineering or related technical degree program would be considered.
  • Experience with 3D Modeling Software required
  • Experience with rotating equipment preferred
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative work environment.
  • Willing to travel at least 10% – Both Domestically/Internationally
  • Must be extremely focused and have a strong attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize project timelines
  • Must be willing to work overtime, as deemed necessary

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures.  Ability to communicate to groups of people, managers, vendors, customers, co-workers and the general public.
