Summary:

 

The applications engineer intern, with the support of a mentor, is responsible for supporting the application engineering team by any one or combination of the following: conducting inspections, developing mathematical models, statistical or regression analysis, developing digital tools for engineering, design, and/or drafting teams, and process flow optimization. The primary objective of the project is to drive improvements to our product performance by better quantifying the impact of several critical-to-quality variables.  This will be achieved by the duties and responsibilities below.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Comply with all safety directives while also actively participating in a Zero Harm culture
  • Focus on producing quality parts and minimizing scrap
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to help meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Prioritize daily work to maximize our On-Time Delivery
  • Complete daily preventative maintenance and cleaning in area

 

Minimum required qualifications:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong focus on safety and quality initiatives
  • Industrial manufacturing experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently as well as contributing to the team
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to organize time effectively, determine priorities, and move work forward
  • Understanding of basic metrology
  • Knowledge of bearing isolators is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and suggest effective resolutions
  • Strong communication skills
