Commercial Finance Manager

Job Summary:

The Commercial Finance Manager (CFM) will report to the Director of FP&A and will serve as a business partner to various commercial leaders within the organization. He or she will work directly with the commercial teams to provide the financial insights necessary to evaluate new product introductions from an investment, costing, pricing, and margin perspective. The CFM will identify and implement process improvements cross functionally, streamline workflows, and ensure projects adhere to approved benchmarks. This individual will thoroughly understand new product opportunities and be able to analyze, define, and articulate his or her recommendations to business partners and senior leadership. The CFM will be responsible for influencing cross-functional team members on the prioritization of new projects and will help the team to deliver against financial targets, including guiding remediation if necessary. This role requires an individual who is not only able to manage existing processes and cadences, but also establish “outside the box” thinking while influencing stakeholders across CPC. The ideal candidate is high energy, responsive, detail oriented, and an experienced leader with strong communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical, operational, and people skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain product costing and forecasting models for new product launches
  • Develop strong partnerships between the Product Team (Design, Manufacturing, Inventory Planning and Sourcing) and FP&A, regarding key deliverables and planning processes
  • Provide hands-on analytical support and develop actionable recommendations throughout the product development process
  • Lead the finance processes for multiple business units, such as forecasting, reporting, and tracking risks & opportunities
  • Analyze data and provide information, including profitability of newly launched projects versus expectations
  • Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational challenges and drive process improvements
  • Prepare and present product-launch phase gate presentations alongside the commercial and engineering teams that provide a detailed plan supported by financial metrics
  • Support the FP&A and commercial functions in developing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and 3-year strategic plan
  • Review and establish financial and non-financial KPI’s (key performance indicators)
  • Other ad hoc requests

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Experienced in phase-gate review processes for new product launches
  • Strong technical capabilities with the ability to solve practical finance issues and problems
  • Ability to interpret financial data, analyze results, assess trends and identify key issues
  • Well versed in Microsoft Excel, ERP, and 'big data' management
  • Organized and efficient in approaching tasks, a self-starter with ability to problem solve and anticipate and avoid issues.
  • Impeccable organization and efficiency skills; strong attention to detail
  • Clear, concise, and articulate communication skills - verbal, written, and listening which allow you to deliver and craft high-quality presentations for senior executives and business partners
  • Intellectual curiosity with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Understand and influence business investment decisions through detailed financial analysis (NPV, IRR, ROI)
  • Interfaces with wide array of individuals, balances multiple tasks, and maintains positive attitude and energy.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Oracle ERP
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • CPA or MBA

 

Travel:   

As needed for corporate training purposes, less than 5%
