Job Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist- Industrial Engineer


Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Specialist reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is responsible for improving processes in manufacturing.  The primary objective is to improve product flow, quality, on-time delivery and labor utilization of manufacturing processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze production information to understand methods and activities on the manufacturing floor.  This includes, but is not limited to, production schedules, process flows, and engineering specs
  • Maintains standard work
  • Lean Champion developing and improving all aspects of Lean, including 5S, product flow, material flow, standard work, visual workplace, poke yoke, etc.
  • Keeps current in the field of Lean Manufacturing practices utilizing internal and external education and training
  • Monitors equipment and automation to ensure it is being properly utilized and functioning at maximum capability
  • Comprehends the operation and function of machinery and automation equipment within manufacturing
  • Works with Training Specialists, Team Leads and Cell Leads to ensure all are current on best practices for setting up and operating machinery and automation
  • Adheres to all safety regulations
  • Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs
    Required Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Good general knowledge of business
    Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Experience implementing and using lean concepts (i.e. 5S, Kanban, SMED)
  • Structured problem-solving experience (i.e. DMAIC, PDCA, CAPA)
  • 2-5 years of experience in Manufacturing
    Travel Requirement:         

Less than 5%
