Job Summary:  The Director of R&D provides leadership in support of product development for specific targeted markets as well custom products at CPC. The person in this role acts as a critical leader in guiding the engineering management team through the growth of the business as well as the growth of their careers.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop current and future managers on the team to help strengthen our bench of leadership talent
  • Overseeing and improving CPC’s New Product Development Process
  • Managing research and technology development
  • Set clear objectives, evaluate progress against objectives, and instill performance-oriented culture with a focus on accountability
  • Partner with customers, sales, marketing, manufacturing, QA, and supply chain to deliver quality products for diverse OEM markets
  • Lead with strong enthusiasm for innovation and creativity
  • Identifies proprietary Intellectual Property relative to product design and assures appropriate action is taken to protect it
  • Adheres to all safety regulations
  • Demonstrates support of CPC core values
     
    Essential Supervisory Responsibilities:        
  • Provide leadership and management for Custom Design Engineering team, Research Engineering, and the Thermal and Bioprocessing R&D departments
     
    Required Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in a product development leadership role
  • Experience in a research and development environment
  • Demonstrated history of developing managers and individuals
  • Keen problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and people management skills
     
    Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • 12+ years work experience in an R&D management
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience with formal continuous improvement and lean product development
  • Experience in Medical Device or ISO13485 QA system environment
  • Keen understanding and passion for intellectual property management
  • Advanced technical or business degree
