Industrial Engineer

Responsible for support of the manufacturing floor and warehouse.  Will help define and implement opportunities for improving product flow, quality, on time deliveries, and labor utilization.  Will help to develop job evaluation processes, optimize the mix of workers and automation, and eliminate waste from all processes.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews production information to understand methods and activities on the manufacturing floor.  This includes, but is not limited to, production schedules, process flows, and engineering specs.
  • Maintains Shop Floor and Work Cell layouts
  • Develops and improves inspection plans and methods for both new and existing products, with the end result of reducing non-conformances and customer complaints.
  • Lean Champion, developing and improving all aspects of Lean, including but not limited to 5S, flow, material handling, Kaizen, Standard Work, Visual Workplace, Poke Yoke, Safety, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Maintains and reports on the status of the Transformation Plan
  • Keeps current in the field of Lean Manufacturing practices utilizing internal and external education and training.
  • Comprehends the operation and function of machinery and automation equipment within the manufacturing and warehouse areas.
  • Works with Training Specialists, making sure all are current on best practices for setting up and operating machinery and automation.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.

 

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in an engineering field.
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma / Process Improvement.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

 

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • ERP (Oracle) experience
  • Kaizen leadership experience
