Manufacturing Automation Manager CPC


Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Automation Manager reports to the Director of Manufacturing and manages a team of automation engineers and automation maintenance technicians.  The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement processes to maintain and improve the equipment released to manufacturing. The primary objective is to improve reliability and effectiveness of legacy equipment that supports the manufacturing team in meeting safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and reports the status of equipment regarding OEE, preventive maintenance, and operational status
  • Oversees projects related to improving equipment performance including root causes, corrective and preventive actions
  • Assess the performance of equipment and the capability to meet the demands of a growing organization
  • Partner with the Manufacturing leadership team and engage in day-to-day operations related to manufacturing performance
  • Monitor progress of all engineering and maintenance projects, and provide leadership to guide and coach teams to completion
  • Work with external equipment and engineering contractors to support equipment needs
  • Establish and maintain team performance metrics
  • Work with manufacturing to decrease non-conformances and continuously improve work processes
    Required Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
  • 10+ years experience in sustaining automation or equipment maintenance role
  • 5+ years supervisory or management experience
  • Strong communication and people management skills
    Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Prior experience leading engineering teams
  • Experience implementing and using lean concepts (i.e. 5S, Kanban, SMED)
  • Structured problem-solving experience (i.e. DMAIC, PDCA, CAPA)
    Travel Requirement:         
  • Less than 5%
