Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Technologies team, based in St. Paul, MN.  Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Technology, the Manufacturing Engineer will Analyze, design, implement, test, and train on our equipment and production processes. Responsible to lead in the development, improvement, and implementation of manufacturing processes and programs.  This position works closely with production, and the R&D teams applying the principles of Design for Manufacturing DFM.  This role is also responsible for the continued implementation of lean throughout the production lines, and identifying new opportunities or changes in business needs

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. .
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Familiar with design and process validations 
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline 
  • Minimum of two (2) or more years of engineering work experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) or more years of direct experience using CAD ( Computer Aided Design ) software

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strongly preferred someone that has experience working with sonic, spin, heat, injection molding or any processes requiring multiple process settings.
  • CAD, preferable Pro-E/CREO
  • Project management training, certificate preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Dealing with Complexity, Informing Others, Leadership, Supervision, Hardware Specifications, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Product Development, Presenting Technical Information, CAD.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
