Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager reports to the Director of Manufacturing and manages a team of manufacturing engineers.  The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement processes to maintain and improve manufacturing processes.  The primary objectives are to improve reliability and effectiveness of manufacturing processes, drive and support Lean initiatives, and lead improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain organized, detailed records of all non-conformances, root causes, corrective and preventive actions
  • Partner with the Manufacturing leadership team and engage in day-to-day operations related to manufacturing performance
  • Monitor progress of engineering projects, and provide leadership to guide and coach teams to completion
  • Establish and maintain team performance metrics
  • Work with manufacturing to decrease non-conformances and continuously improve manufacturing processes
  • Adheres to all safety regulations
  • Demonstrates support of CPC core values
  • Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
    Required Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
  • Five years minimum supervisory or management experience
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Good general knowledge of business
    Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Prior experience leading engineering teams
  • Experience implementing and using lean concepts (i.e. 5S, Kanban, SMED)
  • Structured problem-solving experience (i.e. DMAIC, PDCA, CAPA)
    Travel Requirement:         
  • Less than 5%
