R&D Engineering Manager CPC

We are looking for an R&D Engineering Manager to join our Bio Engineering team, based in Roseville, MN.  Reporting to the Director of R&D, the R&D Engineering Manager will work with both internal and external resources. The R&D Engineering Manager demonstrates leadership through the execution of the CPC New Product Introduction (NPI) process.  The role acts as an influential manager to guide design engineers, manage talent, improve critical processes, and optimize productivity during product development. The R&D Engineering Manager works closely with other engineering groups, marketing, project managers and functional staff to create value in support of the business unit’s initiatives.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management for the Bio R&D Engineering team.
  • Department management of talent, budgeting, and organizational structure.
  • Set clear objectives, evaluate progress against objectives, coach and develop team members, and instill a performance-oriented culture with a focus on accountability.
  • Manage and continuously improve critical processes related to the development and delivery of Bio projects.
  • Technical oversight and responsibility for Bio projects.
  • Maintain high level of interaction with marketing, sales managers, and project managers.
  • Partner with marketing, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing, QA, and supply chain to develop and launch products on the Bio roadmap.
  • Identifies proprietary Intellectual Property relative to product design and assures appropriate action is taken to protect it.
    Essential Supervisory Responsibilities:   
  • Manages the Bio R&D Engineering team based in Roseville.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    Required Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum three (3) or more years of work experience in a technical management or lead role
  • Experience designing injection molded plastic parts
  • Experience in New Product Development
    Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated history of developing teams and individuals
  • Experience working in engineering or management role supporting field sales
  • Experience with formal continuous improvement and lean
  • Experience in Medical Device or ISO13485 QA system environment
  • Advanced degree or MBA
  • Up to 20%, Both domestic and International
