Job Title: Quality Technician Receiving Inspection – 1st shift

Hours: 6:30am – 3pm

Location: Roseville, MN

Job Summary: Primarily responsible for performing incoming inspections for a variety of molded, machined, die cast, and plated components. This includes monitoring supplier performance and compliance to specification activities by applying inspection plans such as skip lot, supplied data, and new component testing.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Apply inspection techniques using a variety of hand inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, ring gages and programmable test equipment such as Optical Gaging, Coordinate Measuring Machine and Micro-view.

•  Initiate, investigate, and resolve non-conformances and maintain appropriate records as needed.

•  Provide support for other inspection functions.

• Assist in evaluation of inspection methods/fixtures and providing improvement recommendations in conjunction with Quality Engineering/Engineering.

• Assist in evaluating and defining inspection processes for incoming inspection as well as production operations in conjunction with Quality Engineering/Engineering.  Operates within CPC BOS (Quality System).

• Active participant in Continuous Improvement and Lean projects.

•  Keeps current in the field with internal and external education and training.

•  Assists with quality systems audits with suppliers.

• Adheres to all safety regulations.

•  Demonstrates support of CPC core values.

•  Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.



Essential Supervisory Responsibilities:

•  None

Required Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience in mechanical inspection or related field.

• Understanding of machining and/or injection molding processes.

• Good communication skills.

•  Working knowledge of MS Office; Word and Excel.

• Able to collect, analyze, and report data.

•  Self-driven and able to work with limited supervision.

• Ability to self-prioritize, multitask and expedite in support of production needs.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

•  Ability to read and interpret blueprints and written specifications

  • Previous experience with optical or coordinate measurement machines.

•  Experience in a regulated work environment such as Medical Device/Bio-pharm/Automotive.

•  Oracle or similar ERP software experience.

• Familiar with 1809001 guidelines and GMP.
