Your role as a Receiving Inspection Technician I will allow you to serve staff and leaders and help provide creative solutions to drive CPC's short- and long-term goals. The Receiving Inspection Technician I is responsible for performing incoming inspections for a variety of molded, machined, die cast, and plated components. This includes monitoring supplier performance and compliance to specification activities by applying inspection plans such as skip lot, supplied data, and new component testing.


Job Responsibilities

  • Apply inspection techniques using a variety of hand inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, ring gages and programmable test equipment such as Optical Gaging, Coordinate Measuring Machine and Micro-view.
  • Initiate non-conformances and maintain appropriate records as needed.
  • Provide support for other inspection functions.
  • Assist in evaluation of inspection methods/fixtures and providing improvement recommendations in conjunction with Quality Engineering/Engineering.
  • Operates within CPC BOS (Quality System).
  • Active participant in Continuous Improvement and Lean projects.
  • Keeps current in the field with internal and external education and training.
  • Assists with quality systems audits with suppliers.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations.
  • Demonstrates support of CPC core values.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office; Word and Excel.
  • Able to collect, analyze, and report data.
  • Self-driven and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to self-prioritize, multitask and expedite in support of production needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a regulated work environment such as Medical Device/Bio-pharm/Automotive.
  • Oracle or similar ERP software experience.
  • Familiar with 1809001 guidelines and GMP.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and written specifications.
  • Previous experience with optical or coordinate measurement machines.
  • Previous experience in mechanical inspection or related field.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 10%

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must frequently lift and/or move 10 up to a maximum of 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, sitting is regularly required; use of hands and fingers, and talk or hear. Reaching is frequently required with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and/or stoop.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
