POSITION OVERVIEW:

A Senior RF Engineer will interface with customers to fully understand customer’s requirements.  From this understanding they will define and propose design concepts leading to custom RF solutions.  The engineer will fully design, prototype, and test RF circuitry and integrated systems in support of customer orders and quotes.  The engineer will use design software to synthesize, simulate, and analyze design concepts to create custom solutions satisfying customers’ requirements.  Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, computer, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, multimeter, microscope, soldering irons, calculator, wrenches, and tuning instruments.  Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.   

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (to include, but not limited to)

 

  • Design custom RF integrated assemblies/systems providing customers with unique solutions
  • Develop solutions that extend beyond current company capability
  • Design passive RF assemblies such as filters (lumped element, cavity, printed, etc.), couplers, splitters, and multiplexers.
  • Design active RF assemblies such as LNAs and switches.
  • Utilize design software to synthesize, simulate, optimize, and virtually prototype designs.
  • Design with consideration to all applicable specifications including environmental, thermal, etc.
  • Direct creation of BOM, including all required prints and required documentation
  • Conduct testing/measurements of designs to validate performance and document.
  • Perform as leading member of a technical team utilizing effective communication skills including interaction with higher level leadership, customers, engineers, and production resources.
  • Build strong customer relationships
  • Support company technical resources with insight, training, design input, etc.

 

SKILLS

 

  • Extensive knowledge of integrated assembly design comprised of RF filters, amplifiers, switches, couplers, mixers, LNAs, etc.
  • Extensive experience with integration assembly methods including wire and ribbon bonding and their effects influencing performance
  • Extensive RF modeling experience using Genesys, CST, PCFILT, Nuhertz, or equivalent software tools
  • Extensive experience with mixed-signal PCB design, layout, and analysis
  • Excellent problem-solving capability, written and verbal communication skills.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:

BSEE with 10 years related experience in RF design.  In absence of a degree, 15 years work experience required.  Solid ability to collect and analyze data to support generating solutions.  Ability to read, comprehend and interpret technical documentation including SCDs, drawing, 3D models, and schematics.

 

 

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS EE degree with 10 years RF design experience or 15 years work experience in related field
  • U.S Person
  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (is applicable)
  • Works from minimal documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, diagrams, and layouts.
