Position Summary:  

The Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the procurement process and coordinating the finished shipment of goods. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products. The Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining a steady supply of goods while optimizing costs and delivery schedules.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Procurement:

  • Source new suppliers and maintain relationships with existing ones.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous deals.
  • Create and issue purchase orders for goods and services needed by the company.
  • Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Address any issues or concerns with suppliers regarding quality, pricing, or delivery.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve lead times and delivery efficiency.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.

Shipping Coordination:

  • Coordinate with shipping companies to arrange transportation of goods.
  • Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and customs requirements.
  • Track shipments and communicate delivery schedules to internal stakeholders.
  • Resolve shipping issues such as delays, damages, or missing items.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all purchasing and shipping activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to purchases and shipments.
  • Stay updated on import/export regulations and trade compliance requirements.

 

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in purchasing/materials/supply chain management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Procurement, Logistics, Business, Engineering or related field (preferred, but not required).
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, and shipping roles.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and negotiation techniques.
  • Familiarity with shipping logistics, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and EEI filing.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems or other procurement software.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling data and documentation.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance is a plus.
  • Working experience in the electronic manufacturing industry is a plus

Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 [per hour / annually]
