The Role

The National Sales Manager will lead, direct and control the activities of the Direct Sales team to achieve its short and long term financial and operating objectives as set by the Company (sales revenue, product mix, SG&A, DSO, etc…).  He/ she will have the responsibilities of ensuring the Company strategies and field activities are properly managed in terms of efficiency, expertise, performance, behaviour and respect of Markem-Imaje rules & process to attain the desirable results.


What you’ll do

  • Responsible for achievement of commercial (sales) results of Direct Sales team:
    • Constantly achieving the sales targets of the China Direct Sales team through acquiring new customers and stabilizing/developing existing business
    • Personally lead sales initiatives development and the change to solution selling
    • Personally engage into big opportunities/projects to accelerate unit sales
    • Control and monitor the performance against standards/objectives
    • Close monitoring of pipeline management, provide accurate on time forecasting and alert in case of gap or issue vs forecast/plan 
  • Together with Sales Director, Great China, define a 3 years strategy, annual business plan and AOP
  • Responsible for achieving Financial performance
    • Manage the DSO and Past Due
    • Control SG&A and stock at the right level
  • Partner with HR to develop the direct sales organization into a high-performance team
    • Ensure that all team members are optimized and well-coordinated across the organization
    • Communicate business objectives/plans and manage any changes appropriately
    • Implement a sales competency model to develop team capability
    • Attract, recruit and retain key talent
  • Ensure the implementation of Social, Environment and Safety company country rules.  Guarantee the internal consistency and compliance of the practices vs. the law & regulations. Ensure local and company obligations are properly fulfilled.


What you need to have

  • Degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent business experience
  • Minimum 10 years of Sales/Marketing/Account Management in the related industry
  • Willingness to travel intensively
  • Solid direct sales experience in the Industrial B2B
  • Strong experience in leading direct sales team
  • Similar customer industry focus with MI’s
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Good command of Sales tools such as sales force, CRM, etc.
  • Strong operational knowledge of the Company’s products and services offered
  • Detailed orientation with the ability to be hands-on in deploying and driving business transformation and organization changes 
  • Experienced level of strategic/value/solution selling, sales forecast and negotiation skills
  • Experienced in lead and funnel management
  • Entrepreneurial spirit to be able to drive new and creative initiatives for both defence and growth initiatives 
  • Financial and analytical ability to look for data and understand the importance of metrics to drive the business
  • Excellent communication skills to enable interaction with internal and external stakeholders/ customers
  • Sales/growth driven, results/customer oriented and a team player
