The Role
Under the responsibility of the Global EHS manager, The North Asia EHS Mgr is in charge to support the deployment of the EHS policy and targets in the region (4 Asian countries listed above) in compliance with global E&S standards. He coordinates the EHS regulation monitoring performed in the local operations and performs audits. He works closely with EHS mgrs and representatives located in the operations to achieve the global and region goals. In addition to the region mission, he is the local EHS Mgr for all operations conducted in China. He is managing the local EHS expert in Shanghai site.
What you’ll do
Region scope:
• Communicate and deploy the Markem-Imaje EHS policy in the organization
• Communicate, deploy and control application of the appropriate global EHS standards and procedures in the local MI operations
• Prepare and implement the Regional EHS program to continuously improve the EHS level of performance and achieve company targets
• Provide support and expertize to local MI operations on EHS domains
• Insure the local EHS programs are developed and roll-out according to region and company expectations and targets
• Insure EHS regulations monitoring is in place in local MI organizations, report outcomes and support local remediation plan until resolution
• Develop and consolidate Regional EHS KPIs and reporting process to Line manager and Corporate as described in the reporting process
• Conduct audits on internal standards or compliance in the subsidiaries
• Could be assigned to lead Global project or lead Global EHS processes
China scope:
• Communicate and implement the MI EHS policies and standards in the organization
• Maintains a safe and hazard-free working environment
• Assists, develops, implements programs to improve environmental and safety performance in alignment with company goals and targets
• Establish, maintain and drives EHS Management system, develop safety policies and procedures
• Identify all EHS regulations applying to the MI operation and ensure the conformity
• Develop and deliver EHS training
• Conducts EHS inspections, audits and safety walks to insure application of the rules
• Communicate on EHS topics with employees and management team
• Prepare, test and maintain a crisis management plan associated to the activities performed
• Report to corporate the EHS KPIs, main activities and information as described in the reporting process
What you need to have:
- Minimum Education/Training: specialized degree (university, engineering school)
- Minimum Work Experience: 10 year related experience minimum experience in industry, preference with chemicals and associated EHS hazards and prevention (fire, explosion, chemical exposure, dangerous good transportation)
- Knowledge & Skills: Expert in Environment, Health and safety domains in the industry
- Background in flammable liquids is preferred
- Able to work with a network of contacts located in different countries with no direct management (influence, inspire and persuasion skills)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for a variety of audiences
- Ability to work in both a team environment and independently
- Able to manage a variety of tasks
- Dependable, able to build trust throughout the organization
- High energy; tenacious
- Problem solving skills
- Facilitation skills
- Good basic computer skills (entire Microsoft platform). Charts and dashboard creation is a plus
- Work Conditions or Specific constraints (Travel…):
- Follows company safety guidelines
- Travel is approximately 30% within the ASPAC region mainly
