General Summary/Scope

Outstanding opportunity to join a global California based company. OK International, a Dover Company, is a leading global manufacturer of bench tools, equipment and related products that are used in the electronics and industrial assembly marketplace.

The Director of Sales, located in any city of APAC, will be responsible for the full OK International product offering and will lead a team located throughout Asia. The Director will be charged with achieving sales/profitability targets and participating in the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Opportunity Assessment Processes. The position requires 50% travel and the individual needs to speak Mandarin and possess strong verbal and written English skills.

The Director of Sales reports to the Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing located in California and will interact frequently with other members of the management team, specifically Sales, Operations and Engineering both in the Shenzhen and US facilitates.

Major Responsibilities/Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

    Provide department leadership and communicates company vision and culture.
    Develops, maintains, and improves business relations with existing and future sales channel and end customers. Addition of sales channel is an immediate requirement. 
    Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies, analysing trends and results.
    Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories, projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
    Implement global sales programs by developing field sales action plans.
    Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
    Establish and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand.
    Maintain sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
    Maintain sales staff job results by counselling, monitoring, and appraising job results of employees.
    Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    Generate, issue and improve monthly and project reports for internal use and Dover management.   
    Prepare and administer department budget.
    Analyse sales statistics to track and predict growth of all OKI brands. 
    Establishes performance goals to achieve OKI metrics for department employees and monitors performance on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
    Identifies new customers and sales opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure new business for OKI brands.
    In support of the Operations and Finance departments coordinates customer payment and credit terms. 
    Understand and be able to discuss use and application of all OKI products.
    Provide ongoing support to key accounts by having a visible presence in these accounts. 
    Work closely with key global accounts to attain corporate approval / AVL status.
    Support trade shows and become involved with regional industry associations.
    Evaluate opportunities that fall outside the current scope of the business. 
    Manages the direction and coordination of the OKI sales team, technical support engineers and customer service teams.
    Manages sales channel both directly and through sales team.
    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems


Key Requirements

Education: Bachelor or above
    Academic degree needed (business administration, marketing, engineering, or related field) with 5 years’ sales team management experience within the electronics, semiconductor or industrial markets through both distribution and direct sales channels
    Previous exposure to international markets and customers 

Language skills: Fluent written and oral English skill

Skills: 
    Possess initiative and drive; have broad sales and customer experience in the electronics industry, distribution, and direct sales experience.   
    Ability to read, analyse and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and governmental regulations as appropriate. 
    Effective and persuasive presentation skills on complex topics to top management, public groups and/or Dover.
    Prefer to have established relationships and contacts within the industry, but not essential.
    Prefer to have soldering/rework, fume extraction and dispensing background, but not essential.
    Good organizational and project management skills
    Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with various management levels.
    Excellent negotiation skills
    Work level experience with Microsoft Windows Environments
    Willingness to travel up to 50%
