Shipping Clerk

Job Summary:

Accurately pull, pack, transact and ship sales orders.

Job Duties:

• Ensures all released orders are shipped complete and on-time.  Verifies through reports that all orders have been properly released, distributed & shipped.
• Accurately pulls and verifies committed inventory against released sales orders.
• Packs orders in compliance with the level of quality standards established.
• Accurately transacts shipping information and order confirmation into the ERP system in a timely manner.
• Works with Material Control in identifying inventory shortages.
• Works with Customer Service to resolve routine shipping issues to ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Transfers, transports and stages materials in a timely and accurate manner.
• Contact carriers to pick up sales orders, as required or requested.
• Maintains integrity of shipping documentation and other records as they relate to sales orders.
• Operates a lift truck or pallet jack, as required.
• Participates in the continuous improvement of the Shipping Department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

• Requires 1 – 2 years related experience. 

Skills Required:

• Experience on an ERP system required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain on task in a fast paced, high-volume environment. 
• Proficient in basic computer and math skills.
• Detail oriented and organized to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Able to thrive in a team environment.
• Ability to provide a high level of service to internal and external customers / suppliers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, and utilize hand and finger dexterity to perform work. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, smell, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull, or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in a warehouse environment is usually loud.
