Position Summary:

The Product Manager is responsible for managing the Wetstock Management product functionality, features, interfaces and ongoing development, executing the product introduction strategy, and determining end-of-life for legacy platforms. This role will work closely with the Wetstock Management business unit Leadership Team to ensure that the goals of the global business plan are met. 

 

Management Qualities:

Management qualities are essential for this role. This is an outward facing role with an expectation of significant customer contact including routine calls and meetings. There is, however, no direct team leadership associated with this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an influential leader, assisting executives in defining organizational goals and strategic plans.
  • Lead and motivate with a clear understanding of market requirements and the challenges of maintaining a consistent strategy.
  • Aligns goals and objectives with corporate policies and business objectives in a way that maximizes the overall customer experience.
  • Drive Voice of Customer (VOC) market research; correlate VOC output to define product specifications.
  • Identify product opportunities for future consideration and prioritize them for development, identify partnership and/or acquisition targets.
  • Investigation and determination of market opportunity, technology assessment and development of strategy for the product offering based upon customer needs, competition, and market trends.
  • Establish a promotional plan for all products including collateral material, advertising, and trade show activities.
  • Ensure a high degree of professionalism and customer satisfaction of all stakeholders.
  • Engage in special assignments as required.
  • Ensure the product is delivered to the required timeframes at the required level of functionality.
  • Work with Engineering to ensure a realistic effort estimate is obtained against each product request form (PRF)
  • Chair regular Program Incremental (PI) meetings with Leadership Team to sign off on priorities.
  • Provide regular product road map updates to the Leadership Team
  • Contribute to and communicate the DFS vision and culture.

Candidate Skills and Qualification:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree: master’s degree in business related discipline preferred.
  • Demonstrated, effective leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and strong work ethic.
  • Executive level interpersonal skills, both verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders of every level and build trust within customer organizations.
  • Effective customer relations and presentation skills
  • Sound understanding of business processes.
  • Ability to define and analyse problems effectively interpret data, evaluate options critically and make reasoned decisions/recommendations.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • IT literate
  • Results orientated.
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to produce quality work within the required directive and scheduled timelines.

 

Experience:

  • Understanding of Wetstock Management or the petroleum/fuel industry would be advantageous.
  • Advanced experience in a product management role
  • Experience working in a global environment.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 20%
  • Flexibility in approach
  • Full Driving license
